Nesodon
is the earliest known member of the family of mammals known as
toxodonts. Roaming various parts of South America, this
Nesodon came from Argentina, and was a very large, rhino-sized
vegetarian. Nesodon thrived for millions of years
until the North American and South American continents finally came
together, forming a land bridge that allowed other animals to come in and
out-compete (as well as eat) the Nesodon. |
