A beautifully preserved horseshoe crab! It is not an impression; it is the actual fossilized horseshoe crab. The tree-like crystallized iron and manganese oxides, known as dendrites, outline this beautiful Solnhofen Limestone specimen.
This is one of the most perfect specimens that we have ever had. It comes from the same quarry as the famous Archaeopteryx fossil from southern Germany.
The matrix measures approx. 7″ wide x 7″ high
The horseshoe crab itself measures 3-7/8″ long.
